Auction for IPL 2011 – Season 4 is taking place today on January 8 and tomorrow on January 9 in Bangalore. Total 350 players would be put for auction in British style. IPL Governing Council has decided that a total of 4 players can be retained by each franchise, which includes a maximum of 3 Indian players.
It was also decided that each franchise would have a cap of 9 million dollars to spend at the next players auction but this amount would get reduced with retention of players. The franchises may have only half their money in hand if they decide to retain all the four players to spend during the new players auction.350 players will be up for the auction with ten teams strategising to get them in to their fold. Each player will have a reserved price and franchise owners cannot bid lower than what is reserved for a player.
