
Adeline lim After three nerve-wrecking segments, the 10 finalists were placed on the chopping board yet again, with an announcement of the top 5 contestants (Romeo Tan, Sora Ma, Peggy Lin, Adeline Lim, and Jeffrey Xu) and the crowning of the final three winners. Shanghai born Jeffrey was crowned champion amidst tears and shock with the first runner-up position going to Peggy from Shanghai, and Adeline from Singapore, coming in third.
MediaCorp’s “Angel” did not win the Best Single Drama or Telemovie but was highly commended, as was Channel NewsAsia’s “Almost Famous Close Up For The Kathoey” (Episode for Best Social Awareness Programme category.Actor Chen Shu Cheng was highly commended for his role in “With You”, while actress Constance Song received similar accolades for “togetherhe judging panel was made up of both local and international artistes such as Zoe Tay, Fann Wong, Ha Yu, Lawrence Cheng, Deputy CEO (Television) of MediaCorp Chang Long Jong, and Senior Vice President of MediaCorp Chinese Drama Productions Kok Len Shoong.
Three new award categories were also introduced this year – Best Lifestyle Programme, Best Drama Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role and Best Drama Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role.This year’s Asian TV Awards also witnessed the formation of the ATA Advisory Board which will promote the Asian TV Awards in their respective countries as the industry endeavours to nurture and develop future talents.The Board consists of members from Singapore, Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia and the Philippines.Rebecca Lim edges out Jeanette Aw for Best Actress win at ATA 2010The youngest nominee amongst the bunch, Rebecca Lim brings home the coveted Best Actress award last night at the Asian TV Awards 2010
