Sa vs ind

Sa vs ind India took a lead of 74 runs but are now struggling at 92/4 wickets in their second innings playing against South Africa (SA) at Durban. India amplified their pace attack in bowling, mainly through the return of Zaheer Khan, and combing with spinner Harbhajan Singh, they paved the way for complete destruction of SA.But the huge advantage that India had was surrendered before SA as top four batsmen are now in the pavilion after getting dismissed in the second innings.Earlier, ground was ready to witness bowlers taking 18 wickets. India resumed their overnight score of 183 for loss of six wickets, but could add just 22 runs to it. While VVS Laxman was out for 38 runs, S. Sreesanth and Zaheer Khan both went out for nothing. MS Dhoni was caught by Alviro Petersen and bowled by Dale Steyn.

The stage was set for some heroic pace bowling of Zaheer. Though the left arm bowler missed the first test, he played here. He bowled superbly yesterday to pin down the opening batsmen of SA. Captain Graeme Smith edged a ball from him to wicketkeeper MS Dhoni. He very soon removed Alviro Peterson at 24. He clean bowled Alviro. But Zaheer did not get the support that the other two pacers ought to have given him. Both Ishant Sharma and Sreesanth were not finding their proper line and length in bowling. Harbhajan got Hashim Amla, Paul Harris. Interestingly, Sreesanth bowled a difficult bowl that showed swing to kiss the gloves of batsman AB de Villiers and Dhoni caught an easy catch to dismiss him for nothing from five balls.

In India’s second innings, Sehwag batted superbly to score 32 runs from 31 balls. He faded to the bowling of Lonwabo Tsotsobe. Apart from him no other Indian batsman was able to give him company. Murali Vijay went out for 9, Rahul Dravid for 2, and Sachin Tendulkar for 6. Laxman is batting at 23 along with Pujara on 10. VVS Laxman and Cheteshwar Pujara steadied the Indian innings after the loss of four early wickets as bad light once again had the final say on day two of the second Test at Durban. If the Indians manage to take the lead to around 250, it would be a tough ask on this wicket. But will they get till there? Let’s find out on Day 3.
